About Rebecca Kurzon, MD

Dr. Kurzon has performed thousands of eye surgeries, and takes pride in her ongoing relationship with her patients. The office at Winter Park Ophthalmology has the most current technology for complete evaluation of your eyes, and has a fully integrated computer system that keeps your data on site, with no need to wait for paper charts when you need copies of your prescriptions, your chart, or your diagnostic studies.
Training
Dr. Kurzon received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with Honors, and a Minor in Spanish Literature from Stanford University. She then attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City for Medical School. Her residency training in Ophthalmology was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Practice
Dr. Rebecca Kurzon is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with interests including cataract surgery, blepharoplasty (“droopy lids”), glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and care of chronic eye conditions such as dry eye and blepharitis (“red lids”).
Dr. Kurzon holds a faculty position at the University of Central Florida Medical School and promotes education in eye care through frequent lectures to resident physicians at Florida Hospital, and reaches out to patients regularly through local community seminars. She believes in the importance of communication with primary care doctors and specialists alike in order to improve coordination of care for her patients.
Personal
Raised in Columbia, Missouri, Dr. Kurzon comes from a long tradition of medicine. She is a third generation of physician, and one of eight physicians in her family who is actively practicing. She is married and has two sweet, delicious daughters, Ava and Hannah. She very much enjoys traveling, running, reading, and playing in her garden.
